Concrete to fabulous: Coffee Table redo

When designing our family room, we envisioned a timeless black-and-white theme with a touch of elegance. The centerpiece, of course, had to be a coffee table that not only fit the aesthetic but could also withstand the demands of a young family.

At the time, our daughter was three years old and had an uncanny ability to move even the heaviest items around the room. We figured a literal concrete coffee table would finally put an end to her furniture-shuffling spree. Spoiler alert: she managed to move it anyway!

How it all came together

Despite its practicality, the table's raw, unfinished look eventually started to feel out of place in our growing vision for a chic, cozy space. It was time for a makeover. I wanted to transform this rugged piece into something that exuded both strength and sophistication.

The result? A stunning blend of industrial and glam—a black-and-gold makeover with a sleek black top that now serves as the perfect focal point for our family room. Not only does it tie the space together beautifully, but it also holds a story of practicality, creativity, and a little family humor.
