From Basics to Beautiful: My DIY Candle Holder Makeover

Sometimes, the most unexpected pairings create the prettiest things — and this little DIY is a perfect example of that. I was wandering through Walmart the other day, not really looking for anything in particular, when a simple plate and bowl caught my eye. Nothing fancy, just basic pieces that somehow whispered “we could be something together.”
So, I brought them home — one plate, one bowl — and decided to see where a little jugaad and creativity could take them. I flipped both over, glued them together back-to-back, and just like that, a unique pedestal form started to take shape. Already, it was starting to look like a chic candle holder waiting for its moment to shine!
I gave it a coat of coal black paint I already had in my stash (because The Jugaad Way is all about using what’s on hand). Once dry, I dabbed a bit of gold paint to give it that perfect touch of glamour. And since I can’t resist adding a bit of character, I used some leftover floral decoupage paper to bring in a soft, romantic vibe.
In less than an hour, I had transformed two everyday kitchen items into a statement candle holder that looked like something straight out of a high-end decor boutique. I added a few candles, and suddenly, my simple little project looked absolutely dazzling
