Weekend Project - From Unmatched To Matched

This past weekend, I decided to tackle a quick and fun DIY project that’s been on my mind for a while. I had two identical outdoor planters sitting around, but they were completely different colors. Instead of letting them clash, I thought—why not give them a little makeover and create a matching set for the front porch?
I started by priming both planters to make sure the paint would adhere evenly. Once they were prepped, I grabbed a few cans of spray paint and transformed them into a matching pair. It’s amazing how a fresh coat of paint can instantly bring harmony to pieces that once looked mismatched.
To style them, I added sleek snake plants in the center of each planter. I love how their upright leaves add height and structure. My plan is to layer in some flowering plants around the base for extra color and texture as the season goes on—but for now, the clean, modern look of the snake plants alone feels so fresh and welcoming.
Now the matching planters sit proudly on either side of our front porch, giving the entrance a more polished and cohesive feel. It was such a simple weekend project, but it completely changed the look of the space. Sometimes, it’s the little touches that make the biggest difference!
