Console Glow-Up

My family room was screaming for a new console table—and I mean screaming! So, off I went on a quest to find the perfect one. But alas, every table I found was either the wrong size, the wrong color, or way out of my budget. Enter Facebook Marketplace, where I stumbled upon a diamond in the rough. It was the right size, but super traditional and, yeah, totally the wrong color. Challenge accepted!

How it all came together

After hours and hours of stripping and sanding, I painted the body a sleek black and gave the top a fabulous wood finish using Retique It. To enhance the wood tone further, I applied Dixie Belle Gel Stain, which gave it a rich and warm color. Once the stain dried, I sealed the top with a durable topcoat to ensure it’s both beautiful and long-lasting.

To level up the look, I added cane webbing to the doors, popped on some stylish new legs, and crowned it all with stunning gold handles. Ta-da! Feast your eyes on the transformation!
