This post is part of The Fairycore Bedroom Diaries, where I share the progress of turning my daughter’s room into a whimsical fairycore retreat. With each project, I’m weaving in nature-inspired details and reusing what we already own to keep the makeover sustainable, magical, and personal.
Step 1 – Prepping the Canvas
Every enchanted space needs a fresh start. Before adding any fairycore touches, I wanted to strip the room down and create the perfect blank canvas.
Clearing the space:The room originally had a modern vibe with shelves and curtains that didn’t fit the new fairycore vision. I cleared everything out—goodbye clutter, hello fresh possibilities.
Wall and ceiling refresh:The walls had a few scuffs and holes, so I patched, sanded, and smoothed everything out. The ceiling was even more of a challenge—it had wallpaper that needed to be peeled off completely before I could patch and repaint.
Choosing the colors:For the walls, I went with a soft off-white—airy, bright, and a perfect backdrop for greenery and sparkle later on. For contrast, I painted the molding a light, nature-inspired green. The combination already gave the room a softer, more natural feeling, like the first layer of an enchanted forest.
✨ Fairycore Touch: Think of this step as laying the foundation. Clean, airy walls and soft green accents set the stage for all the dreamy details to come.
With this step complete, the room is one step closer to its fairycore transformation. Next up: magical custom curtains. Stay Tuned🌸✨
